Hi, my name is Allanah, and I am a Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Integrative Psychotherapist, I have a passion for nurturing young minds and offering support through challenging life events towards positive mental health and well-being by providing a safe and therapeutic space to enable children, adolescents and young people to tell their own unique stories. I have worked therapeutically in educational and charity settings including Place2Be and The Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service. Currently, I am working as a psychotherapist in a charity supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse, and as a school counsellor in an independent school alongside my private practice.

I work with an integrative framework that enables me to draw from different therapeutic theories and practices such as a psychodynamic approach, attachment theory and indirective play therapy, to ensure that each counselling session is unique for every individual child, adolescent, and young adult. The root of my practice is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship offering a person-centred approach to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental, confidential, safe, an empathic space for your child , adolescent or young person and where they can start to make sense of their feelings and experiences.  I offer the opportunity to talk combined with the creative arts including clay, paint, and slime alongside accessing play therapy resources for younger children.

I have thirty years’ experience of working with children, adolescents, young people, and their families in a range of settings including charities, education, and early years centres. At the heart of my work has always been to listen, support, and offer guidance for the whole family with the child, adolescent, or young person being at the centre. I have a great interest and passion for children and young people’s wellbeing which led me from my teaching career into studying counselling and psychotherapy. I believe that once a child and young person has a safe place and a trusting therapeutic relationship that there is a great possibility to untangle and manage life’s challenges, find their strengths and resources within bringing endless possibilities for growth and understanding.
