Therapists
I am a humanistic counsellor offering online and face-to-face counselling. I will meet you with warmth, empathy, and a genuine interest in you and your experience. I will be authentic, present and fully committed to you and your process. Please contact me for a free 30 minute call online or over the phone to get a sense of whether we would be able to work together to increase your well-being.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on my studies of Person-centred theory, Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt, Mindfulness, Attachment theory, Focusing/body work and Trauma-informed practice. Therapy is an organic, intuitive, individual process and I work differently with different clients depending on their needs, wishes and preferences.
Before I became a therapist, I was a teacher for many years. I loved my job, working with children and families from a variety of backgrounds. What I found so rewarding was not the teaching itself, but the connection and communication, the humanistic aspects of being a teacher. After a family crisis, counselling helped me process what had happened. It inspired me to become a counsellor myself. I had been working with Macmillan as a 1-1 emotional support volunteer for a few years, and that led to my trainee counsellor placement with the NHS Sussex Cancer Centre psychological therapies team. After three years of counselling studies I qualified, and I have never felt more fulfilled in any job I have had.
