Over the past 10 years, I have experience of working in primary and secondary mental health care, as well as inpatient services within the NHS. Currently, I work for Sussex Community Foundation NHS Trust providing psychological therapy for adult patients with long-term health conditions and practice privately in the Brighton and Hove area. Therapeutic Approach

I draw on more than one type of approach to psychological therapy and tailor it to your needs and concerns. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), sensorimotor and neurobiological approaches to therapy. I am interested in how our past relationships and experiences affect how we currently function in life. Above all, I place importance on the quality of the therapeutic relationship and always endeavour to work in a safe, non-judgemental and empathic way. I value honesty, integrity, equality, self-respect, compassion and genuine relationships. While there are no easy solutions, we can work together to find ways to help you build personal resilience and effective coping strategies.

Background

On a more personal note, I was born in Burma (Myanmar) and moved to the U.K. when I was a young child. Growing up in two cultures has given me an appreciation of people from different backgrounds and identities, understand the challenges this can pose and helps me bring a grounded and practical approach to therapy.
